Raven has revamped its entire set of social tools. Everything is simpler to understand and easier to use, and we’ve added a few features that customers have requested.
All of the social changes go live on Jan. 2 at 5 p.m. PST (GMT-8).
Here are four things to check out first:
- Better design throughout
- Twitter additions
- Social Monitor improvements
- Social Stream improvements

1. Better design throughout
We have redesigned every tool, including the Social Stream, Social Monitor, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Persona Manager. Raven approached this upgrade with the goal of making everything more streamlined and intuitive.
In particular, we made better use of navigation on the left and simplified the results on the right. Here’s an example from the Social Stream:
All the functionality that was there before is still there now — such as clicking one button to see details on any individual contact — it’s just easier to find and use.
2. Twitter additions
First, you can now access your saved searches directly from Raven’s Twitter tool.
You can create new searches, using advanced settings including geolocation and sentiment if you want, and then save any Twitter search for future reference.
Second, you can now access, create and manage Twitter lists.
Finally, it’s a little thing, but you can now choose to quote a tweet or use the retweet option (no quote, just a repost).
3. Social Monitor improvements
For starters, it’s simpler to create and refine brand, industry, keyword and competitor social media searches. For example, you can exclude domains before you set up a search, and the exclusion can apply to your account, the profile you’re working with or the search you’re setting up.
Also, it’s easier to filter and sort results from Quick Views, which are groups of accounts and terms you’re monitoring with a particular theme.
4. Social Stream improvements
You can now add Twitter saved searches and lists to your Social Stream source options. Also, it’s easier to create Quick Views.
