Introducing Raven’s automated website crawler

Site Auditor helps you keep track of the health — good or bad — of any website, at least in terms of technical SEO.

It can automatically crawl any website in your Raven account to find issues. Paid customers can crawl up to 10,000 pages per day with a limit of 1,000 pages for any single website. Trial users can crawl one website up to 1,000 pages during their 30-day free trial.

Over time, customers can compare earlier scores with later ones to report progress to clients.

What the Site Auditor Summary page shows

The Summary view provides a high-level view of your site’s SEO health. It includes the total errors found on the site.

It breaks down errors into seven related sections:

  1. Visibility problems, such as blocked pages and rogue redirects
  2. Meta data that’s missing, duplicated or too long
  3. Content issues, such as duplicate content or pages with low word counts
  4. Links that are broken or nofollow
  5. Images that are missing ALT and Title text or are broken
  6. Pages that don’t use structured data
  7. Page speed issues

Clicking on an error type in the Summary view will take you to a more detailed view of the issues.

What a Site Auditor detail page includes

For example, the Content view – one of the seven detailed audit views – displays the page URL, page title, internal and external links and content attributes.

All tables have filters so you can narrow to what you’re looking for. Likewise, most of the columns are sortable.

Where it makes sense, data points in the table are linked intelligently to save you steps. For example, if you click on the Internal Link count number from the Pages view, it will take you to the Links view and automatically filter the results.

What you can report

You can export and report all data from Site Auditor.

A report from Summary page could be be particularly helpful for business development when you need to show prospective clients where their websites are falling short. You could customize the report summary with your explanations and recommendations.
