Tip Tuesday: How to Set Up Raven’s New Email Campaign Tool
Last week Raven Tools launched an email marketing tool, which currently supports MailChimp and Campaign Monitor (thanks for the awesome shout out this week!). I want to spend a little time going through the setup for the new tool so you can get up and running quickly.
Input API Key
Raven needs your API key to pull in your data for MailChimp or Campaign Monitor. Navigate to Email —> Settings, to enter your API key for either email platform. Not sure where to find your API key? We included a link to help you get it.
Once you have entered your API key, you’ll see your chosen platform (Campaign Monitor and/or MailChimp) appear in the dropdown under the Email tab. Select the platform to see a list of all of the email campaigns you have run with it, including the subject, date it was sent and number of recipients. If you’re using the Raven Tools Event Manager, you’ll see corresponding events for the campaign as well. And with one click, you can add an email campaign to the Event Manager.
Dig Deeper with Google Analytics
Clicking on an individual email campaign name will send you to a page full of data about that specific campaign. If you have Google Analytics set up for your email campaigns, you’ll see stats on visits, unique opens, email bounces and number of emails not opened. You’ll also get a breakdown of clickthroughs on individual links within your email.
Report On Campaign Results
A branded PDF report can be run directly from the tool, or you can add an Email: Campaign Summary module to a report built in the Report Wizard. Just remember to select a campaign when you are compiling your comprehensive report.
