Griffin Clarifi

Written by | Posted on December 11th, 2008

While I was at a party recently, I pulled out my iPhone, which was (embarrassingly) naked. Fortunately, Dave Delaney (of the iPod/Phone accessory giant Griffin Technology) was nearby and offered to hook me up with a Clarifi.

The Clarifi is a slick (both figuratively and also not rubbery) iPhone case that has a little lens that slides over the iPhone’s built-in camera. The idea is to add the ability to take close-up photos that aren’t blurry. See for yourself:

As an added bonus, the case also comes with a screen protector and Griffin-branded microfiber cloth.

While I’m not a huge fan of cases or screen protectors (just ask my recently scratched iPhone screen), this one is really well made. My only gripe with it (and this may just be the way cases are) is that it makes the volume and mute switch a little difficult to operate when using the phone.

As a side note, Dave and I also discussed the fact that the PowerMate probably needs a new name ("The Knob"?) since neither of us could remember what it was called. Whatever the name, I do love mine.

A big thank you to Dave Delaney and Tom Yarbrough at Griffin Technology!
