Feature Friday: Updated Ranking Reporting
We know how important campaign reporting is to you, which is why we spend a great deal of time making sure our reporting engine provides as many options as possible. We’re also very aware that some report options can be quite daunting at first. To solve that problem, we decided to tweak certain report options to make them easier to use – starting with the Ranking Summary and Detail report options.
Updated Ranking Reports
Previously in our reporting engine we gave you three options for reporting on ranking results: Summary, Detail, and Trending. Over time, the functionality of the Summary and Detail reports began to overlap. Eventually, the differences between the two reports were so minor, that we decided it was time to merge them into one report.
“SERP Tracker” Report Option
The new merged report has been simplified, and renamed to SERP Tracker (which matches the name of the tool used to track ranking results). When you add the SERP Tracker report option to your main report, you’re now presented with a shorter list of reporting options.

If you want to override the default settings, and/or create a more advanced report, you can click on the Advanced checkbox. The Advanced options include:
- Filtering by tag
- Only reporting keywords with a specific rank
- Displaying side-by-side competitor results
- Displaying AdWords statistics
- Displaying Google Analytics data
- Displaying the Average Rank
- Performance summary
- Advanced sorting options
- Combined reports (only available for Agency and Enterprise accounts)
- Optional summary text

“Keyword History” Report Option
The Trending report option was renamed to Keyword History. While the only thing that changed was the report option name, I did want to point out an important part of this report. While the Keyword History page (within the SERP Tracker tool) will only show you six months of historical data, we still store all of the data from when you first started tracking your keywords. The Keyword History report option takes full advantage of that data, and allows you to set the date range as far back as you want (as long as we have historical data for that keyword).

Updates to Quick Reports in the SERP Tracker Tool
If you ever need to run a quick report on the fly, you can always do that at the very bottom of the SERP Tracker tool. Today we’ve added the ability to sort the Summary quick report by ascending or descending ranking position, and you also have the ability to do a side-by-side comparison with a single competitor. The view that you have in SERP Tracker will be data that’s outputted in the quick report.
iPhone/iPad App and New Dashboard
In case you missed it earlier this week, be sure and check out our new Dashboard and iOS app for iPhone and iPad! They provide you with an informative snapshot of your website campaigns. You can download the iOS app from the App Store, and we’d love to hear your feedback!

We hope each and every one of you have a happy and safe 4th of July weekend!
