Feature Friday: Trackable Download Links for Scheduled Reports

Written by | Posted on July 16th, 2010

A popular feature that’s used by many of our customers is the ability to schedule and email reports. When a Raven user creates a new report, they have the option to both schedule it, and also have it emailed to their colleagues and/or clients.

When a scheduled report runs, and is emailed to the recipients, we attach the PDF report to the message. While that’s convenient for many people, not everyone wants to get a PDF attachment. That’s especially true if the report and file size is large.

Trackable Download Link for Emailed Reports

Starting today, we are offering the option to choose between an attachment or a trackable download link.

Trackable Download Link
If you choose the Trackable Download Link option, Raven will keep track of which recipients click on the download link, and how many times they click on it. In addition, the system will also be tracking and displaying users who download the report inside the Raven SaaS.

Download Links for White Labeling

A good portion of our customers take advantage of Raven’s white labeling features. For example, Agency and Enterprise accounts can use their own custom domain, and Pro, Agency, and Enterprise accounts can customize the UI to use their own logo, colors, and footer text.

If a Raven account has a custom domain, the download link will use that domain for the link. However, if an account is using raven-seo-tools.com or subdomain.raventools.com, we will replace those domains with the generic domain, marketing-reports.com. The marketing-reports.com domain has a private registration, and doesn’t resolve to a website.

New Tool Debuting at BlueGlass LA

I’ll be in Los Angles next week for BlueGlass LA. Raven is a sponsor of the event, and I’ll have a chance to demo the software to the attendees. During that time, I plan to debut a major new tool we’ve been working on. It’s one of the most requested tools we’ve ever had, so I’m very excited to launch it next week!
